Strategic Training Delivery

This is the running order, not a word-for-word script. Work down it on your phone while you practise, say the lines in your own voice, and fill in the bits in brackets as you go.

Step 1 of 6

Introduction

Who you are and what the next few days are. Short. This is not your CV — it is the reason they should listen to you.

  • Who you are

Hi, I'm name. I've been working in trade or role for n years, and training for n. Today we're doing course.

Credibility comes from the work, not the qualification. Lead with the work.

  • What they get

By the end of the next two hours / today / whatever they're here for you'll be able to the outcome in their words, not the unit code.

  • Housekeeping

Before we start: breaks are when, amenities are where, and if the alarm goes we meet at point.

Get it out of the way now. It is the one thing that will interrupt you later.

Watch for — Two minutes, not twenty. If you are still talking about yourself at five minutes, you have taught them the session is about you.

A practice aid for trainers and assessors. It explains a delivery approach, not a compliance requirement, and is not a substitute for a training and assessment strategy, session plan or assessment tool.
